Greetings and a very warm welcome to the Department of Fashion Design at FIT SUNY Korea!
Standing here as your Department Chair is deeply personal to me. Having grown up in Korea and spent pivotal years studying and working in the United States, I know firsthand what it feels like to navigate two distinct worlds. Korea’s energy, technological innovation, and vibrant culture, combined with New York’s bold, boundary-pushing fashion legacy, create an unmatched creative environment. You are situated at the exact intersection of these two global powerhouses, and I am thrilled to walk this path with you.
Our department is rooted in the core mission of the Fashion Institute of Technology: preparing you for professional excellence through rigorous education, creative expression, technical mastery, and real-world experience. Our vision is to cultivate designers who will actively shape the future of global fashion—creators who combine bold vision with flawless craftsmanship, cultural agility, technological innovation, and a deep commitment to sustainable practice.
While technical excellence and creative rigor are our standards, my primary focus as your Chair is simple: I want to ensure you have a wonderful, enriching time here and grow within a safe, supportive community.
