Application Documents

Required Documents

  • All required documents must be issued in ENGLISH.
  • During all phases of the admissions process, SUNY Korea FIT accepts only official academic documentation or evaluations based on official academic transcripts. Transcripts are treated as copies if sent or uploaded by the student and are not considered official.
  • Scholarship and Financial Aid applications MUST be submitted with the online application and cannot be completed after application submission.

    * Provisional Admission is NOT available for FIT students.

  1. 1High School Transcript
    • High school seniors: Full high school transcript from Grades 9-12 (including all in-progress Grade 12 records)
    • High school graduates: Full high school transcript from Grades 9-12
    • GED applicants: GED certification + high school transcript (if applicable)
      • Applicants are highly advised to submit SAT, ACT, or other academic credentials
    • Transfer applicants: Full high school transcript from Grades 9–12 & full transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended

  • Applicants may submit official transcripts either by physical mail or electronically through approved vendors.

    Physical Transcript Submission

    Please mail transcripts as original documents in an official school envelope, properly sealed and stamped with the school’s seal, directly to the SUNY Korea FIT Admissions Office.

    Electronic Transcript Submission:

    The Admissions Office accepts electronic transcripts only from the following approved vendors:

    • Parchment / Credential Solutions
    • SUNY Counselor Connect
    • National Student Clearinghouse
    • Naviance by Hobsons
    • SCOIR

    If SUNY Korea FIT does not appear as a selectable recipient within the vendor’s system, please manually enter our Admissions Office email address (admission@sunykorea.ac.kr) as the recipient and input the institution details directly.

  • Applicants that attended secondary or post-secondary school(s) outside of the US or South Korea must have their transcripts verified by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

    NACES Evaluation Process:

    1. The student selects a NACES evaluator of their choice and designates SUNY Korea FIT as the evaluation recipient.

    2. The school (or student, if applicable) submits official transcripts directly to the NACES evaluator.

    3. The evaluator reviews and verifies the documents.

    4. The NACES evaluator sends the official evaluation report directly to SUNY Korea FIT.

    5. This evaluated report serves as the student’s official academic record for admissions review.

    *Transcripts must be evaluated using official documents in order for application review to proceed.

    **Once the NACES evaluation report has been sent to SUNY Korea FIT, students do not need to mail a separate copy of transcripts.

  1. 2Personal Statement
    • A form is provided within the online application page and must be 750 words or less
    • Applicants with gap year(s) are highly encouraged to provide relevant explanations
    • An additional essay for transfer students is required

      • Official reporting through the testing agency must be completed by the application deadline
      • Copies of test scores must be uploaded in the online application
      • Submitting a standardized English test score may be waived if:
        • Applicant has completed 4 years of English (not ESL) at a high school located in the U.S.
        • Applicant has completed 4 years of English (not ESL) at a high school located in the U.S
        • If you believe you may qualify for an English test score waiver, you must submit a formal waiver request to (admission@sunykorea.ac.kr), describing your educational background in detail.

      *Please include supporting documents such as official school profiles clearly indicating the primary language of instruction at the schools you attended, or other relevant official records.

  3. 4Fashion Design Portfolio (Fashion Design Major Applicants ONLY)
    • Fashion Design Portfolio Guideline

      *Deadlines listed on the portfolio guideline pertain to the FIT NY Campus

    • 4 different projects assigned by FIT NY
      • 1 essay, 2 design projects, and 1 sewing project
    • Applicants will receive the portfolio submission link through email after the online application and payment has been made.

Supplementary Documents (Optional)

  • Other documents listed below may be submitted as additional documents:
    SAT, ACT, AP, IB, A-level, College Scholastic Ability Test, high school portfolio, certificates, awards, etc.

    *Supplementary Documents such as High School Student Life Records (생활기록부) or recommendation letters may be submitted in Korean.
